Does the city maintain private alleys?
The City does not maintain privately owned alleys. That responsibility lies with the owners of those alleys.
top How do I get a concrete alley?
There are a few exceptions, but the majority of concrete alleys in the City were, or are being, paid for by the abutting property owners. The formation of a Local Improvement District (LID) can be used to facilitate this process. A small number of alleys are constructed in concrete each year with Federal grant money or with previously approved bond funds. Selection of alleys for these programs is handled through Denver Community Planning and Development.
