 Denver Employees Retirement Plan Minimize
Denver Employees Retirement Plan is a defined benefit plan that provides a lifetime monthly retirement benefit for eligible City employees. The City of Denver contributes eight percent and the employee contributes two percent of the Career Service employee’s gross salary into the Retirement Plan. Employees are vested after five years of employment with the City. Normal retirement is age 65. Employees can retire as early as age 55 with an Early Retirement (where the benefit is reduced three percent for each year under age 65) or with the Rule-of-75 (where age and service equal 75 and the benefit is unreduced). When you retire, the benefit is based on your highest 36 consecutive months of pay, your years of service, and your age. Each year the Retirement Plan issues an annual statement to all City employees which provides an estimate of your monthly retirement benefits.
