The Denver Mayor’s Commission on Youth was created in 1972 and is established by Ordinance No. 319 Series of 2003, Section 2-145.B of the Denver Revised Municipal Code. It was brought under the Mayor's Office for Education and Children April 21, 2003.
The mission of the Commission on Youth is to be a resource for positive youth development in the city, and an advocate for youth voice..Under the division is the Mayor's Youth Commission, Metropolitan Mayors and Commissioners Youth Awards, Creative Options, a systems collaboration around truancy reduction and Denver Partnership for Adolescent Concerns and Successes (DPACS).
