Implementing the Bond Initiative Projects.
Nearly 14 months ago now, with Council’s approval, the final decision on spending tax dollars for City maintenance and improvements was turned over to Denver voters. They said yes to a property tax increase that will pay for ongoing maintenance of the city’s assets. And gave the green light to 8 bond projects totaling just over $550 million dollars. The 2008 programs began with a look at The Implementation of the Bond Initiatives, with Council members Rick Garcia, Michael Hancock and the Assistant Chief of Staff for the Mayor’s Office Amy Mueller.

The late spring ‘08 program took a look at The City and County of Denver’s well-established history of environmental innovation…from launching one of the nation’s first ‘green fleets’ of hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles, to pioneering the use of energy-efficient and long-lasting LED traffic signals. Guests on the program were District 4 Councilwoman Peggy Lehmann, and District 10 Councilwoman Jeanne Robb.
City Council’s Budget Priorities for 2009.
In these tough economic times Council continues to advocate disciplined spending and prudent financial management.
