Frequently Asked Questions

The Denver County Court is a court of record.  As such, a verbatim record of all court proceedings is kept. Electronic recordings are made for each courtroom proceeding and retained for a period of two years.

The Transcriber's Office is charged with preserving, reproducing and supporting the record.

The Office of the Court Transcriber is responsible for the preparation of printed transcripts of county court proceedings. Judges, attorneys, plaintiffs and defendants can make a request for a transcript.

Transcripts are not free. The charge for transcripts is set by state statute, currently at $2.35 per page.

The actual transcript ordering process has been made as easy as possible. Request forms are available in each courtroom clerk's office, or can be accessed by clicking on the link below. The forms are simple to use, and provide answers to the most frequently asked questions.

The transcriber's office consists of one full-time transcriber who coordinates a pool of six private transcribers. They work hard to provide fast, efficient service.

NOTE: the Civil Division does not use the transcriber's office. Instead, there is a private transcriber assigned exclusively to that division. Parties wishing to order civil division transcripts may communicate directly with the transcriber and can obtain the transcriber's name and business phone number at the civil division clerk's office.
