Criminal and general sessions ordinance violation cases which may arise related to the Democratic National Convention will be brought before the Denver County Court. The court is located at 1437 Bannock Street, Denver, CO 80202.
The court is prepared to devote sufficient resources to all DNC matters which might arise. Court resources, including court sessions, will be expanded beyond usual business hours to administer such matters.
Arrestees posting bond will be given a future court appearance date and released. Persons unwilling or unable to post bond will be advised of their rights and will be seen in court for arraignment.
The court intends to use its
regularly-posted bond schedule in initially setting bonds. As always, judges will have discretion to set bonds differing from the scheduled amounts. Arrestees will be expected to post the entire bond amount, and may also be assessed one or more of the following fees:
$30 Bond Fee per bond posted (excludes Personal Recognizance bonds)
$30 Inmate Processing Fee per booking into the Detention Center
Bond will not be posted unless the bond and fees are paid in full.
Several county court bonding stations will be available at the detention center. The sheriffs will notify arrestees of the scheduled bond amount. Once their ID is known, an arrestee who wishes to post his or her own bond may do so at the detention center. Bonds posted by others -- professional sureties, family, friends, etc. -- will not be processed at the detention center, and must be processed in Room 140 of the City and County Building, 1437 Bannock Street.
After court appearance or posting of bond, case status information can be found by searching the court records at Denvergov.org/court. All activities related to the case are updated within minutes of court action. Cases can be searched by defendants’ name or case number.
