Denver P2 Partners is now offering an environmental certification program for auto repair facilities. This program recognizes environmental achievement in pollution prevention and environmental sustainability in the auto repair sector. The certification criteria were developed through focus group meetings with representatives in the auto repair sector. The representatives assisted Denver P2 Partners with determining achievable and appropriate pollution prevention goals. The set of goals become the criteria for certification and recognition as a Denver P2 Partner.
Certification is based on completion of sector specific program criteria. Criteria are separated into five categories: Business management, Energy Efficiency, Water Conservation and Quality, Resource Management and Transportation. To become certified, a business must first be in compliance with all environmental laws and regulations. All Core Criteria and at least two elective criteria must be met in each category to achieve certification.
Denver P2 Partners will verify that the business has met all the requirements of certification and to encourage further improvement, and to lend assistance in overcoming technical issues and challenges.
