Denver Office of Drug Strategy

The Denver Office of Drug Strategy’s primary role is to implement the comprehensive strategic plan developed by the Denver Drug Strategy Commission.  This plan is a set of measurable goals, objectives and outcomes that will address prevention and gaps in services in an efficient and cost-effective manner and a copy of it can be downloaded from this web site.
 
The Denver Office of Drug Strategy (DODS) has a wide range of expertise in substance use, abuse, addiction, and recovery. Our office exists to engage individuals and organizations in strategies for preventing substance abuse and addiction, as well as treatment for and recovery from substance abuse and addiction.

Free Substance Abuse Intervention Workshop
The YMCA, Denver Office of Drug Strategy (DODS), and The Partnership at Drugfree.org are teaming up to teach Time to Act Community Program. The Time to Act Parent Training! Time to Act is a collection of tools and resources for parents of children of all ages. Whether you think a child is using drugs, know that they have begun to use drugs, or simply want to learn what signs to look for, this training will provide you with the information you need to know.  
  • Current drug and alcohol trends for youth
  • What signs or behaviors to look for in a child
  • What steps to take if you think a child is using drugs or alcohol
  • What steps to take if you know a child is using drugs or alcohol
  • How to access online tools and resources that provide support to parents throughout the process

2010 Denver Office of Drug Strategy Annual Report

The Drug Strategy Plan has been fully up and running for two years. We are happy to say we are on track to reaching the goals outlined in the plan. Our goals have a direct impact on the health and well-being of those living within Denver. Grill & Chill, May 14

Kickoff the Summer at the Grill & Chill Event - Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Neighbors, children and families in southwest Denver are invited to Grill & Chill at the Fourth Annual Safe Summer Kickoff celebration, which will be held on the sports field at Kepner Middle School, 911 S. Hazel Ct., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 14.  There will be free food, live music and fun activities.
