Welcome to the Better Denver Bond Program Website
Better Denver logo
The Better Denver Program  is a comprehensive effort to invest in the enhancement of many city facilities that touch our lives, as well as the construction of new city facilities.

In 2007, Denver’s citizens passed the ballot initiatives that established this program and its bond financing; to make a better Denver for everyone.  Through this program, we will improve, preserve, renovate and build new roads, libraries, parks, hospitals, public safety facilities, cultural facilities and more.

Over 280 projects are slated for design and construction.  The City of Denver is committed to delivering these projects in record time (4-5 years), so that most projects are completed by 2011.

Councilwoman Carla Madison speaks
about DMNS and donation.
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has received the largest donation in its 109-year history, an $8 million gift from the Morgridge Family Foundation for the construction of a new Science Engagement Center. The facility will be funded through private fundraising and funds from the Better Denver bonds.

“This is an amazing gift. We applaud the Morgridge Family Foundation for providing quality educational opportunities for the youth in our community,” said Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. “The foundation’s generous contribution, together with funds approved by voters in 2007 for the Better Denver bond program, will go a long way in boosting an already thriving cultural community in the Denver area.”

Voorhies
Restoration of the historic structures at Civic Center Park, involving the Greek Amphitheater, Voorhies Memorial and balustrade began in January 2010. The restoration is expected to be complete by mid-June of this year. This $9.5 million dollar project, funded through the Better Denver Bond Program, will ensure the integrity of these special places for years to come. The restoration will be done in a way that respects the historic legacy of these facilities. The structures will remain the same, only stronger and fresher.
