Mission Statement:

To partner with the community to provide protective, financial, medical, and nutritional assistance with dignity and respect for all customers.

 

The Family and Adult Division provides the following services: Aid Needy to the blind and Disabled (AND), burial assistance, Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), employment services, Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), food assistance (food stamps), general assistance/homeless, grandparent/kinship (relatives who raise children other than their own), housing/eviction assistance, Long Term Care (LTC), Medicaid eligibility, old age pension, protection to adults/elderly, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)and veteran services.


Our team members assist in providing services to approximately 70,000 Denver County households, comprising of approximately 104,500 individuals.

Philosophy
The Family and Adult Division assists families and individuals to enhance their quality of life. We strive to help them reach their maximum potential of self-sufficiency by providing temporary and appropriate supportive services. We believe that public assistance is a short-term solution to their needs, and that long-term self-support is the ultimate goal. We aim to increase income by providing services that lead toward employment.
