Welcome to the Treasury Division

The Treasury Division collects, records, and deposits all City and County of Denver taxes and other City revenues, and ensures compliance with all applicable tax law. The primary activities of the division include comprehensive and complete responsibility for all property and excise taxes, including billing, payment processing, reconciliation, tax compliance, tax collection, tax auditing, and taxpayer education.

Property tax

Pay your property taxes online, make payments for service lien, maintenance district, and local improvement project fee payments, find out when property tax payments are due, search for real and personal property tax records, and find the methods of payment accepted by the City and County of Denver.


 

Business Tax Information

File and pay your taxes online, find out about the various business taxes that the City and County administers and collects and obtain registration forms and tax returns.




Sales and Use Tax Standard Rate

The City and County of Denver Sales and Use Tax Standard rate increased from 3.62% to 3.65% effective January 1, 2015

In the November 4, 2014 election, Denver voters passed Referred Question 2A which called for an increase in the Denver Preschool Program sales and use tax rate from .12% to .15%, an increase of .03% (the standard sales and use tax rate will thus consist of the 3.5% general fund rate, plus the new .15% Denver Preschool Program rate for a combined total of 3.65%). Today, members of the Department of Finance and Denver Arts and Venues, who worked together on a project called P.S. You Are Here with representatives from the Mayor’s Office, the City Attorney’s Office, Community Planning and Development, Parks and Recreation, and Public Works, will jointly receive a 5281 Award. The 5281 Award recognizes individuals and teams that exemplify the STARS (Service, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Safety) values, support sustainability practices, and help to deliver a world class city to the people of Denver.
