Denver Police investigate fatal shooting in northeast Denver

Denver Police are investigating the shooting death of a man that took place in Northeast Denver just before 10:00 p.m.

On Monday, July 4, 2011 members of the department were dispatched to the 3200 Block of Dahlia Street at approximately 9:51 p.m. on the report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene they located a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the Denver Health Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The initial investigation has determined that the victim was involved in an altercation with an unknown suspect(s) while at a party. While in the parking lot, the victim contacted two individuals who then fired shots at the victim, fatally wounding him.

Additional information will be released pending further investigation.
