Denver Police investigate fatal auto-pedestrian accident

Denver Police are investigating a fatal Hit and Run collision that left a man dead in Northeast Denver on Sunday, August 26, 2012.

At approximately 9:05 p.m., members of the Denver Police Department responded to the area of East 17th Avenue and Garfield Street on a report of an accident. When officers arrived on scene they located a male victim suffering from multiple injuries.  He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The run vehicle is described as a dark colored SUV, possibly black, with significant front-end damage and possible damage to the windshield.  The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on 17th Avenue at a high rate of speed.
