Mayor Hancock Highlights Importance of Adopting from Shelters on Take Your Dog to Work Day
Mayor Hancock today joined newly appointed senior advisor “Rambo,” a 2 year old male sheltie mix from the Denver Animal Shelter in commemorating the 14th Anniversary of Take Your Dog To Work Day.

Created in 1999 by Pet Sitters International, Take Your Dog to Work Day serves as a reminder of the impact companion animals have on our daily lives. The fun event also offers the opportunity to educate the public about the number of shelter animals looking for homes

The Humane Society of the United States estimates that U.S. animal shelters care for 6-8 million dogs and cats every year in the United States. Rambo is among more than 80 dogs, cats and other companion animals waiting to find a new home at the Denver Animal Shelter.

Rambo is available for adoption at the Denver Animal Shelter, located at 1241 W. Bayaud Avenue, adoption for $130.
