Denver City Government Closed Thursday, July 4
DENVER – Most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

As a result of the holiday, the Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, Clerk and Recorder’s Office, Auditor’s Office and most city agencies will be closed Thursday, July 4.

Partner entities such as Denver Health and the Denver Zoo will remain open Thursday, July 4, as will agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty Thursday, July 4 as well.

3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG & DENVER 8 TV
3-1-1, the city’s information line for non-emergency services will be closed Thursday, July 4. Service requests may be submitted online at denvergov.org/denver311. Updates are available continuously on www.denvergov.org. Regular programming will continue on Denver 8 TV, although all meetings are canceled the week of July 1. Regular coverage of the Mayor and City council will continue the week of July 8.

ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL CONTROL
The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday, July 4. Animal Control Officers will be available to respond to emergencies and enforce city regulations.

ARTS & VENUES DENVER
All venues managed by Arts & Venues Denver, including the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center, The Coliseum and Crossroads Theater, will be open for scheduled events and performances Thursday, July 4, and will take place as planned. The Red Rocks Amphitheatre, including the Visitor Center, the Trading Post and the Ship Rock Grille will be open during standard hours of operation.

BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS
Building and Zoning permit counters will be closed Thursday, July 4. No building inspections will be scheduled that day.

CITY-OWNED GOLF COURSES
Golf Courses will be open Thursday, July 4, weather permitting.

CLERK & RECORDER AND MARRIAGE/CIVIL UNION LICENSES
The Office of the Clerk and Recorder – including marriage and civil union licensing, the Public Trustee, Records and Recording – will be closed Thursday, July 4.

COURTS
The Denver County Court will be closed Thursday, July 4. All state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building will be closed Thursday, July 4.

DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES
The four Denver County Motor Vehicle office locations will be closed Thursday, July 4. For vehicle renewal online, visit the state website.  

ELECTIONS DIVISION
The Denver Elections Division will be closed Thursday, July 4.

EXCISE & LICENSES
Excise and Licenses’ customer service counters and offices will be closed Thursday, July 4.

HUMAN SERVICES
Denver Human Services will be closed Thursday, July 4. The child protection emergency response team and child abuse and adult protection telephone hotlines will be staffed Thursday, July 4. To report suspected child abuse call 720-944-3000. To contact the Adult Protection Hotline call 303-601-5669 (after hours number).

LIBRARIES
All Denver Public Library locations will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. The Westwood Branch Library located at 1000 S. Lowell Blvd. will also be closed Friday, July 5 due to the closure of the community center in which it is located. Many of the Library's resources remain available when the buildings are closed via www.denverlibrary.org

OFFICE OF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER (CORONER)
The Office of the Medical Examiner (Coroner) will be closed Thursday, July 4. Office staff will be available to respond to emergencies.

PARKING METERS, CASHIERS AND MAGISTRATE
Parking meters are free on Sundays and on recognized city holidays and will be free Thursday, July 4, until 11:59 p.m. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted and to follow all normal parking regulations all other days. 

The Parking Cashier counter and the Parking Magistrate’s office will be closed Thursday, July 4.
Parking violations may be paid when the counter is closed by using any of the following options –citation number printed on the ticket is required:
  • Pay-by-phone at 1-866-280-9988 and follow the recorded steps using Visa or MasterCard.
  • Pay online at www.denverpvb.com using Visa or MasterCard.
  • Use the payment kiosk located outside of the Webb building on Court between 14th & 15th using Visa or MasterCard, or personal or business checks. Note: There is a 2.5% transaction fee for online transactions and for using credit cards in the kiosks.
  • Written correspondence to contest or investigate a citation may be sent to the Parking Violations Bureau at P.O. Box 46500, Denver, CO 80201 or e-mail may be sent to www.denverpvb.com.

PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT COUNTERS
Public Works’ permit counters and the Right Of Way Enforcement office will be closed Thursday, July 4.

RECREATION CENTERS AND OUTDOOR POOLS
All Denver Parks and Recreation regional, local and neighborhood recreation centers will be closed Thursday, July 4. All Parks and Recreation outdoor pools will be open Thursday, July 4 until 5 p.m. For more information and directions to a regional recreation center and outdoor pool, visit denvergov.org/recreation.

TRASH, RECYCLING & COMPOST COLLECTION
Trash, recycling and composting will not be collected Thursday, July 4, and service will be delayed one day following the Independence Day holiday. Thursday service will be provided on Friday and Friday service on Saturday for that week only. 

VEHICLE IMPOUND FACILITY
The Vehicle Impound Facility, 5160 York St., will be closed Thursday, July 4.

WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT
The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. Third Ave., will be closed Thursday, July 4.

WORKFORCE CENTERS
All Denver Workforce Centers will be closed Thursday, July 4. The city’s online hiring system will be available at www.denvergov.org/jobs.
