Native Plant Master Program Announces 2014 Classes

The Native Plant Master® Program – Metro to Mountain Group - has announced a newly expanded 2014 schedule of offerings.  Sample one of the exciting classes taught by CSU faculty and other experts or explore a Jefferson County Open Space or State park by taking an award-winning Native Plant Master course.  See April and early May offerings below. Those completing three NPM curriculum courses are awarded a Colorado Flora Certificate with no volunteer requirement.  For those interested in educating others by becoming a certified Native Plant Master volunteer, contact npmassistant@jeffco.us.

Native Plant Landscaping - Tuesday – April 29.  In this 4 hour class taught by CSU’s Dr. Irene Shonle, you’ll learn how to use native plants in your landscape, and be introduced to many beautiful, hardy native plants. 

Exploring herbicides Used to control Invasive Weeds - Tuesday - April 8.  This class will offer an in depth look at herbicides that are used to decrease the population of invasive weeds. 

Native Plant Master Course at Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve – Sundays May 4, May 11 and May 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.  Take a Native Plant Master® course at this mountaintop natural area set in the ponderosa pine forest and montane meadows of Lookout Mountain.
