Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will also be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Casey Foundation assessing the department’s progress  the 2007 Third-Party Review requested by the agency. The Review Team found the department has made “significant progress” on several of the recommendations. 2009 Mayor’s Design Awards Announced Mayor John Hickenlooper celebrated the growing number of Denver’s homeowners, small business owners and developers who have made design excellence a priority in their community at the fifth annual Mayor's Design Awards. Announcements DIA Job Fair Job Fair Promotes Over 300 Openings DIA is a major employment center for metro Denver February 15 - The Denver Office of Economic Development will host a DIA Job Fair at the Green Valley Ranch Recreation Center to connect job seekers with more than 30,000 jobs located at Denver International Airport and its tenant and surrounding businesses.    2007 Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts The public is invited to free community celebration   February 19 - Awards reception will be held at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts on the University of Denver campus. Mayor Hickenlooper will present the awards to the honorees at the event.  New this year and in partnership with the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, Mayor Hickenlooper will salute the recipients of the Mayor’s Young Emerging Artist Awards.
