Help Make Season Bright
Spreading holiday cheer is what the Denver Human Services (DHS) Giving Program hopes to bring to over 5,000 developmentally delayed adults, disadvantaged seniors, teenagers, youngsters and families this season.
 
“With the economy the way it is, we are seeing a decrease in donations and a rise in people who need help,” says Chrisanne Wilhelmi, Volunteer Program Manager at Denver Human Services.

In celebration of its 150th birthday, the City and County of Denver has selected 150 of its citizens to honor as “unsung heroes” – ordinary people who have done extraordinary things to help make Denver a better city for this and future generations. And lists 150 Wonderful Things About Denver.

Denver Housing Fair

June 2 - Kickoff Affordable Housing Week with the Denver Housing Fair in the Webb Municipal Office Building atrium. The fair will feature a variety of affordable housing and rental options available throughout the City and County of Denver.

June 3 - Forum  to address development opportunities in Council District #5, as well as economic development tools and financing options available to business owners, developers and community organizations along East Colfax Ave.

June 6 - Aug 2: Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic goodies for a fun-filled night under the stars. 16 family-friendly films on outdoor screens with high quality sound is one-of–a-kind experience.
 

Special Exhibition
June 9 - Special one-time exhibition of work entitled Heart Land by artist Chandler Romeo at the Buell Theatre contemplate the altered landscape of the eastern prairies of Colorado.

June Great Outdoors Month in Colorado
June 14 - National Outdoors Day reconnects our youth and everyone to the great outdoors. Booths and outdoor stations will offer a variety of fun activities such as a mountain bike course, rock climbing and geocaching.
