Help Make Season Bright
Spreading holiday cheer is what the Denver Human Services (DHS) Giving Program hopes to bring to over 5,000 developmentally delayed adults, disadvantaged seniors, teenagers, youngsters and families this season.
 
“With the economy the way it is, we are seeing a decrease in donations and a rise in people who need help,” says Chrisanne Wilhelmi, Volunteer Program Manager at Denver Human Services.

Denver honors 150 ‘unsung heroes’ on sesquicentennial

In celebration of its 150th birthday, the City and County of Denver has selected 150 of its citizens to honor as “unsung heroes” – ordinary people who have done extraordinary things to help make Denver a better city for this and future generations. And lists 150 Wonderful Things About Denver.

Help Clean Up South Platte River Trail

Denver Parks and The Greenway Foundation are looking for 300 volunteers on September 20. Clean, seed and weed.  Tools provided.

 


2008 One Book, One Denver Picked
Mayor Hickenlooper has unveiled the 2008 One Book, One Denver selection. Dashiell Hammett’s Classic "The Thin Man" will be at the center of community-wide activities and events through October.


7th Annual Four Mile Fling

Four Mile Historic Park’s annual fund-raiser is Sunday, September 14th from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  The event includes dinner, a silent auction and games.
