13 SITES TO BE USED AS BALLOT DROP-OFF LOCATIONS
The Denver Election Commission will have 13 sites (new site added) available for voters to drop off their ballots for the Tuesday, May 1 General Municipal Election. See full listNO BALLOT? CONTACT DENVER ELECTION COMMISSION
The DEC will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day and replacement ballots may be requested on Election Day. A drive-through ballot drop-off lane will be open all day located on Court Place between Colfax and 14th St.

SHAPE FUTURE CITY SNOW RESPONSE
City Council “Virtual Town Meeting” invites suggestions for snow operations plan
Councilwoman Marcia Johnson, Chair of the Denver City Council Public Works Committee, has announced the launch of a “ Virtual Town Meeting” on improvements to the City’s snow operations plan. A special email box has been created to receive suggestions. Anyone can share ideas with City Council, Mayor Hickenlooper, and the Public Works Department by emailing to SnowGo!@ci.denver.co.us. Submit by May 11.

JUSTICE CENTER MINI-BONDS SET RECORD
More than $8.8 million in sales smashes previous record
 Colorado residents overwhelmingly embraced the 2007 Denver Justice Center mini-bond program, purchasing over $8.8 million in mini-bonds in just five days and more than doubling Denver’s previous single mini-bond issue record of $4.1 million in 1990.
Purchasers of the 2007 Denver mini-bonds will begin receiving their bond certificates the week of April 23.

MAYOR ANNOUNCES NEW ADDITION TO COMMUNICATIONS TEAM
Former Director to Guide Special Projects  Mayor John Hickenlooper has announced that Lindy Eichenbaum Lent is transitioning from her service as the administration’s communications director to a senior advisor and special projects role, and Marlena Fernández Berkowitz is joining the administration today as its new communications director.

King Soopers Donates $46,000 to Denver’s Homeless Initiative
Company Matches Dollars Raised from Community
Russ Dispense, president of King Soopers, has announced that the grocery chain will match dollar for dollar and penny for penny the $22,933.94 raised through customer donations for Denver’s Road Home, the city’s Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness. The grand total, combining King Soopers’ company donation with that of their customers, will be $45,867.88.

METRO MAYORS ASSIST FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYERS
 Program Offers Downpayment Assistance and Stable, Conventional Fixed-Rate Mortgages
First-time homebuyers in many parts of the Denver metro area can now get a 4% down payment assistance grant and 5.95% 30-year fixed rate mortgage through the Metro Mortgage Assistance program led by the City and County of Denver and the Metro Mayors Caucus.

NEW DIRECTOR OF STREET MAINTENANCE NAMED
 First female for the position in the history of Denver’s Public Works
Denver's Public Works announced today their selection for the new Director of Street Maintenance, Kelly Duffy. As the Director of Street Maintenance, Duffy will be responsible for close to 200 employees, budgets totaling over $30 million and the numerous and diverse projects and services in the City and County of Denver assigned to Street Maintenance.
