Money raised will support quality early childhood care and education for Denver three year olds |

Denver kids are heading back to school now. That means more traffic, on the road and on the sidewalks, as kids head to schools and bus stops. According to the National Safety Council, school buses are the safest form of ground transportation in the United States. Here are some tips to make sure that ride goes as planned.

| CITY CRIME CONTINUES DECLINE
 The Denver Police Department and the Office of the Manager of Safety are reporting that crime in Denver is continuing its decline though 2007. Citywide reported Crime is down 11.4% from January through July of 2007, compared to 2006.
There is a decrease in every major crime category.

| RECORD-BREAKING CONCERT SEASON, RECYCLING AT RED ROCKS Big Step Toward Greenprint Denver Goal to Increase Citywide Collections
| Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the world-renowned, naturally-occurring outdoor concert venue, is enjoying a record-breaking season. With 68 concerts and a total of 86 events (including concerts, films, graduations and private events) booked for the 2007 summer stretch, Red Rocks is the busiest it’s ever been. With so many people packing the 9,450-seat venue on a near-nightly basis over the course of the concert season, Red Rocks and Denver Recycles have teamed up to analyze the venue’s recycling needs and implement a permanent recycling program. |

| MAYOR HICKENLOOPER FILLS KEY APPOINTMENTS String of Announcements Kicks-off Second Term
In the weeks surrounding his July 16 inauguration to a second four-year term, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper has announced several key positions in his administration. The most recent are the Manager of General Services and the City and County of Denver's Director of Economic Development. In recent weeks he also made his pick to lead the comprehensive Greenprint Denver Initiative and mid-month he selected his choice of CIO to lead the vital Technology Services Department.
