Denver Launches PodcastsThe Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) hosts podcasts on its Web site, www.milehigh.com.
 September 29, 2006 - The podcasts feature Mayor John Hickenlooper and a group of business leaders who share their perspectives on Denver as an ideal location for conducting business.
Users can listen to the podcasts directly on their computer or subscribe to them through an RSS feed. The podcasts also will be available for free subscription through Apple’s iTunes.

| Mayor's Construction Empowerment Initiative Program to Spur the Growth of Small Businesses, Including Minority and Women-Owned Businesses, in the Construction, Professional Design and Construction Services Industry
 September 14, 2006 -- Mayor John Hickenlooper unveiled plans Wednesday for an economic development program designed to increase City contracting with small businesses – including minority- and women-owned – in Denver’s construction, professional design and construction services industries. Dubbed the Construction Empowerment Initiative, the program seeks to ensure that business opportunities created by the expenditure of public funds are made available to all community members, providing a pathway for smaller and minority- and women-owned companies in the Denver construction market to grow, prosper and succeed.
