Public Invited to Information Session
on Denver Strategic Parking Plan, November 6
Denver Public Works and Community Planning & Development invite the public to attend an information session on the City and County of Denver’s Strategic Parking Plan (SPP) on Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The information session will take place at the Colorado Convention Center (700 14th Street) in meeting room 507 and is free and open to the public.
The Denver Strategic Parking Plan is the City & County of Denver’s comprehensive review of the City’s parking system, with a special emphasis on identifying and implementing new and existing best parking practices in Denver. The information session will present the project’s scope of work, identify existing conditions and discuss issues identified to date by stakeholder focus groups. The event will include a short question and answer period.
The SPP will conduct an analysis of existing parking policy including:
Off-Street Parking
On-Street Parking
Zoning & Regulatory Practices
New Parking Technologies
Parking Enforcement Practices
Residential Parking
The SPP team will also evaluate the applicability of similar programs in other cities, recommend best practices for zoning requirements and design standards, and suggest implementation approaches for partnerships, financing and organizational structure. The plan’s objectives are consistent with the City of Denver’s overall goals for sustainable growth and development as outlined by Blueprint Denver.
