Denver Justice Center Gains Green Award
Post Office/Parking Garage Achieves Silver LEED Rating
 
The new Denver Justice Center complex has received a final SILVER LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, rating from the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
 
“This building is a perfect example of sustainable construction practices that can help us significantly reduce that impact,” said Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health.

Summer Jobs for Young People 16 - 21
Local youth need look no further for summer employment than the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt Tuesday March 25 - .
The Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) is hosting a Governor’s Summer Job Hunt Job Fair for Denver youth, Tuesday, March 25, from 1–4 p.m., at the Denver Public Library, 10 W. 14th Ave. Pkwy.

The Governor’s Summer Job Hunt assists young adults, ages 16 to 21, by matching their skills, interests and work experience with appropriate employers. Through the program, OED looks to refer young people to more than 1,100 available positions this summer. Offered annually, the program looks to expose youths to the working world in several exciting fields, including retail, restaurants, hospitality, catering, recreation, sports and entertainment.

The following employers will be on hand:
  • Elitch Gardens
  • Lakeside Amusement Park
  • Denver Parks and Recreation
  • K&M Concessions (Denver Zoo)
  • Aramark at Coors Field
  • American Civil Contractors

For young people to connect with these employers, they will need to bring a photo ID and their Social Security Number.
