Denver Announces Access and Mobility Plans for Final Convention Night at Invesco Field at Mile High
 
After extensive preparation and work with local, state and federal transportation and security officials, the City and County of Denver announced local mobility and access plans for the last day of the Democratic National Convention: Thursday, August 28, 2008.

311 opens DNC Hotline
 
Denver’s Customer Care Center, 311, has launched The DNC Hotline, an auxiliary call center established to answer questions related to the Democratic National Convention and to manage an anticipated increase in call volume through the end of the month.
 
 
 

Creative Space Website Launched
 
Creative Space Agent will be a free Web portal just for Denver’s space-starved creative community. The site's goals are to allow creative businesses, artists and arts organizations to search for and promote available performance, rehearsal, studio, business and housing space to meet unique needs.

Free public art tours
The Denver Office of Cultural Affairs will offer FREE public art tours at the following locations in 2008

Spend a quiet Saturday exploring the City’s public art program, or make the tours a destination for friends and family visiting Denver.  Mark your calendars now!  
 
Tour #1
Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC) 14th and Curtis  
This tour will gather in the DPAC atrium near Infinite Energy (large abstract bronze in the open area between Boettcher Concert Hall and the Bonfils Complex) fifteen minutes prior to start time.
 
Tour dates/times:
  • Saturday, June 14, 1:00 PM
  • Saturday, September 13, 1:00 PM
  • Saturday, October 11, 1:00 PM
  • Saturday, November 15, 1:00 PM  
Tour will include: Ellie Caulkins Opera House (works by Dale Chihuly, Herbert Bayer, Steven Batura, John DeAndrea) Buell Theatre (works by George Woodman, Vance Kirkland) Atrium and exterior (works by Fernando Botero, Victor M. Contreras, Jonathan Borofsky, Marcus Akinlana, John Powell)   
 
Tour #2 
Colorado Convention Center 14th and California  
This tour will gather in front of I See What You Mean (a.k.a. the Big Blue Bear) fifteen minutes prior to start time.
 
Tour dates/times:
  • Saturday, June 14, 11:00 AM
  • Saturday, July 19, 11:00 AM (tour will extend to the grounds of the Denver Performing Arts Complex)
  • Saturday, September 13, 11:00 AM
  • Saturday, October 11, 11:00 AM
  • Saturday, November 15, 11:00 AM  
 
Tour will include: Interior (works by Erick C. Johnson, Jim Green, John McEnroe, Kirk Johnson & Jan Vriesen, William Matthews, Trine Bumiller) Exterior (works by Lawrence Argent, Jonathan Bonner, Barbara Jo Revelle, Bernar Venet)
