DIA Sets Another Record

DIA had its busiest month ever in August, making it the 20th month in a row it set a  monthly record for passenger traffic.  But it was the smallest monthly increase since April and traffic is expected to decline now that airlines are cutting capacity to deal with higher fuel costs.

City Celebrates With Marade and Rodeo
 
First observed in 1986, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day will be observed this year on Monday, January 21. The city of Denver will be celebrating this memorable day with a variety of events, including the Marade and African-American Rodeo of Champions 
Cultural Visioning 2028 Town Hall Meeting
What will Denver’s cultural environment look like in 20 years?
 
January 29 - Denver is being described as a city in the midst of a cultural renaissance. Broad community input is critical to DOCA’s thinking about the future of arts and culture in Denver. During the 90-minute presentation and discussion, attendees will glimpse the future and have the chance to share their reactions and insights. No RSVP required.

January 17 - The City conducts a Biennial Performance Evaluation of Comcast at 6:30pm in the Webb Municipal Building.  The Denver Office of Telecommunications seeks input from cable customers about the value of their Comcast cable service - you can fill out the online comment form. The proceedings will be cablecast live on Denver 8 TV.

 Rail Yard is OPEN
 
Denver Parks and Recreation and Winter Park have teamed up to bring the excitement of winter sports to Denver’s youth. Its a free ski and snowboard rail yard located in Ruby Hill Park. Events include equipment demo days. Contact Denver Parks and Recreation or call 311 (in Denver).

Applications Due February 4, 2008
 
Don’t miss out on your chance to order FREE vegetable seeds and transplants. Applications are now available to Denver residents who meet low to moderate-income guidelines. Applications can be picked up at nearly 35 distribution centers (recreation centers, churches and senior centers).

through February 15 -Now is the time to think about getting the team ready for the spring softball league. Divisions for the spring include Men's D-Competition, Men's D, Men's E, Mixed-Coed, and Women's. Registrater now  for "Softball in the City".
