Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will aslo be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Top Headlines Monday, November 23, 2009 | 38.0° Mostly Cloudy and Breezy BEAT THE HEAT AND REDUCE OZONE POLLUTION          New “Chill” Program for Hot Summer Months The Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) is asking citizens to “chill” this summer and modify day-to-day behavior to help reduce ground-level ozone pollution.  During the summer months hot and stagnant air leads to increases in ground-level ozone pollution, which is formed when emissions from everyday items combine with other pollutants and “cook” in the heat and sunlight.  Sources of such emissions include local industry, oil and gas production, gasoline-powered vehicles and lawn equipment and household paints, stains and solvents.
