Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will also be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Top Headlines Thursday, November 26, 2009 | 37.0° Fair PARKING FINES INCREASE The cost of illegal parking on Denver streets gets steeper   Denver Public Works Right of Way Enforcement says starting October 1st the cost of a Type 1 parking ticket is $25, up from $20.  The fine for parking in spaces specified for people with disabilities is going from $100 to $150.  And parking in a Street /Repair and Parking Tow-Away Zones changes to $25.00 for the first offense, $50.00 for subsequent offenses.   NEW APPOINTMENT TO DENVER WATER BOARD Denver real estate broker to fill vacancy     Mayor John Hickenlooper recently announced his appointment of John R.
