Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will also be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Top Headlines Thursday, November 26, 2009 | 34.0° Fair DENVER PARKS & RECREATION DONATES 28,000 MEMBERSHIPS MY PLACE to Give DPS Students Free Access to Neighborhood Recreation Centers   Denver Parks & Recreation announced that they will provide free recreation center memberships to approximately 28,000 students in 60 Denver Public Schools as part of a new program, MY PLACE.   Elementary and middle schools throughout the city have been assigned to neighborhood recreation centers. Denver Parks & Recreation staff will be meeting with schools and their students to announce the program.    NEW GREEN AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNDERWAY Renaissance Riverfront Lofts Development in South Platte River Neighborhood    Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and City Councilwoman Judy Montero participated in a groundbreaking event on January 8, 2008, celebrating the development of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) Renaissance Riverfront Lofts.
