Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will also be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Top Headlines Friday, November 27, 2009 | 41.0° Fair Mayor and Governor Cut Summer Energy Use Mayor John Hickenlooper and Gov. Bill Ritter this week launched the second year of Cool Biz, a summer energy-saving program that cuts energy use in government office buildings by raising thermostats. The program this year will include more than 100 City buildings. State government is also participating in the program. Vote for Denver's Book One Book, One Denver is changing this year. It’s the public’s turn to pick the book. Once voting ends and the winning book is determined, the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs will begin planning the 2009 One Book, One Denver program for a Sept. 1 launch.
