Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will also be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Infrastructure Bond Projects on Nov. 6 Ballot


The attached spreadsheet lists the infrastructure bond projects (download) on the November 6, 2007 ballot.
The first question would establish a 2.5 mill increase in property taxes - those funds would be dedicated to maintenance of city infrastructure and assets.
 
The following eight questions address projects in the following order: 
  • Health and Human Services Facilities
  • Libraries
  • Streets, Transportation and Public Works
  • Park System Facilities
  • Public Office Facilities
  • Cultural Facilities deferred maintenance
  • Cultural Facilities new construction
  • Public Safety Facilities

DPS ANNOUNCES REFORM PLAN
Plans unveiled for school closures, creation of new school programs

Some parents, students and teachers in the Denver Public School system are facing an uncertain academic future.  DPS officials on Monday announced eight elementary schools are closing; as many as five schools will change their academic programs

The decision comes after several months of review by A+, the civic organization created to help reform schools in the Denver area.
