LIBRARY DIGITIZES DENVER NEIGHBORHOODS
Historic Neighborhood Records Preserved as Legacy
The Institute of Museum and Library Services has awarded the Denver Public Library’s Western History/Genealogy Department aver three quarters of a million dollars for the Library’s Creating Communities: Digitizing Denver's Historic Neighborhoods project.
Manuscripts, photographs, published narrative, cartography, audio and video recordings and newspaper clippings from private sources will be linked with the public records to provide in-depth information about the history of Denver and its neighborhoods.

METRO MAYORS URGE QUICK ARSENAL SETTLEMENT
State Report Highlights Damage to Natural Resources
| Mayors from three metro Denver communities strongly urge Shell Oil Co. to quickly finalize settlement negotiations with the State of Colorado regarding compensation for natural resource damage at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal so that restoration efforts may begin. The action follows the release in late October of a State report detailing environmental damage at the Arsenal. That report, the Natural Resource Damage Assessment Plan, (NRDA), describes significant harm to environmental resources on and off the Arsenal site, most notably contaminated groundwater and injured wildlife and habitat |
