Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will also be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Top Headlines Thursday, November 26, 2009 | 25.0° Fair LIBRARY DIGITIZES DENVER NEIGHBORHOODS Historic Neighborhood Records Preserved as Legacy   The Institute of Museum and Library Services has awarded the Denver Public Library’s Western History/Genealogy Department aver three quarters of a million dollars for the Library’s Creating Communities: Digitizing Denver's Historic Neighborhoods project. Manuscripts, photographs, published narrative, cartography, audio and video recordings and newspaper clippings from private sources will be linked with the public records to provide in-depth information about the history of Denver and its neighborhoods. METRO MAYORS URGE QUICK ARSENAL SETTLEMENT State Report Highlights Damage to Natural Resources   Mayors from three metro Denver communities strongly urge Shell Oil Co. to quickly finalize settlement negotiations with the State of Colorado regarding compensation for natural resource damage at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal so that restoration efforts may begin.
