CITY MARKS REVITALIZATION of SANTA FE ARTS DISTRICT
Economic Assistance Program Welcomes New Business
| Mayor John Hickenlooper and City Councilwoman Judy Montero celebrated, November 27, the opening of a new restaurant that received funding through an economic development loan. The Santa Fe Tequila Company, one of many neighborhood businesses assisted through the Denver Office of Economic Development (OED), held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its opening in the flourishing Santa Fe Arts District.
OED’s small business financing funds, which are derived from federal Community Development Block Grants, have funded restaurants, galleries, artist workspaces and residences, cultural institutions, and retail and service establishments along Santa Fe Drive.

CITY PROPOSES CIVIC CENTER CULTURAL FACILITIES
Colorado History Museum and City Cultural Center sited in Park
| Mayor Hickenlooper and Councilwoman Jeanne Robb have outlined potential opportunities in which the City could partner with the State to restore the historic Carnegie Library to public use as a new Colorado History Museum, create a public cultural space in the park for year-round programming, and establish a nearby community cultural center to facilitate the park’s activation. |
