The Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) has extended the application period for its Summer Youth Employment Program. Applications will now be accepted through May 30, 2014.
The program provides job training and paid work experience to Denver youth age 14 through 21. To be eligible, youth must be Denver residents or enrolled in foster care within the City and County of Denver. Priority will be given to low-income youth that face barriers to school completion or employment.
The program connects youth with up to 160 hours of employment with businesses, nonprofits and government organizations. Youth will work within a variety of job types among industries targeted by OED, including accommodation and food services, healthcare and social assistance, professional/business services, retail and skilled trades.
