Denver plans half-day “power prep” session for job seekers in healthcare industry

The Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) is continuing its series of fast-paced, free workshops designed to help job-seekers in various high-growth industries with a workshop Thursday, August 7 featuring employers and recruitment experts in the healthcare industry.

The half-day session will be held at the Denver Workforce Center at 1391 N. Speer from 9 a.m. to Noon.

The workshop, “Power Prep: Supercharge your career in the healthcare industry,” will be hosted by Mark Genkinger, director of recruitment for Denver Health, who serves on Denver’s Workforce Investment Board. Genkinger will moderate a panel of healthcare professionals who will tell their stories about their own careers and provide insider tips to job-seekers on how to pursue their own.

The morning’s agenda will also include tips on interviewing as well as an opportunity for individual resume reviews and one-on-one coaching from the OED workforce staff. “The healthcare industry is expanding and will continue to expand in the coming years. We are excited about the many job opportunities that are available for people with all levels of training and experience,” Genkinger said.

Space is limited, and reservations are required by August 1, 2014. For details and information call 720-865-5580 or visit www.denvergov.org/oed.
