The Civil Division of the Denver County Court handles money suits between parties, up to $15,000. Caseloads include suits for money, evictions, name changes, foreign judgements, and replevins -- recovering property illegally taken. Small Claims Court has a limit of $7,500. Post-judgment remedies are the biggest part of the workload. They can include anything from a wage garnishment to executing on property. Civil court judges also hear matters pertaining to protection orders.  The Civil Division consists of the clerk's office and five courtrooms.
