The four medical plans offered to eligible City employees are Denver Health Medical plan (DHMP), Kaiser Permanente HMO, Aetna HMO and Aetna POS (changing to UnitedHealthCare, effective January 1, 2010). Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-term Disability and Flex Cash are effective the first of the month following your date of hire. Your life insurance and long-term disability become effective the first day of work.

Denver Health Medical Plan (DHMP)
As a member of DHMP, you receive your care through the doctors at 10 community health centers throughout Denver.  All locations have free, easily accessible parking for DHMP members. Several convenient pharmacy options are available, including online prescription refills and Pharmacy Delivery by Mail, offering a 90-day prescription supply for one co pay. To read more about DHMP visit www.denverhealth.org or call member services at (720) 956-2100.

Kaiser (HMO)
Kaiser Permanente is the largest nonprofit health plan in the United States.   They are an integrated health delivery system, which means they provide and coordinate the entire scope of care for members, including: preventive care, well-baby and prenatal care, immunizations, emergency care, screening diagnostics, hospital and medical services, pharmacy services. Aetna HMO (Changing to UnitedHealthCare Choice Plan for 2010)
The Aetna HMO plan is a traditional HMO which coordinates your care through a primary care physician and allows you to pay a low flat fee (copayment) for most covered services.

Aetna Choice POS (Current Aetna POS participants must choose a new carrier for 2010)
The Aetna Choice POS plan gives you the freedom to receive care from any licensed provider and the chance to save by using in-network providers. For more information about Aetna plans, visit www.aetna.com 1 (877) 385-5160.

UnitedHealthCare Choice Plan (HMO/EPO)
The UnitedHealthCare HMO/EPO plan is similar to a traditional HMO which coordinates your care through a primary care physician and allows you to pay a low flat fee (copayment) for most covered services. To find out more about UnitedHealthCare Choice Plan, visit www.myuhc.com or call 1 (866) 873-3903.
 
UnitedHealthCare Choice Plus Plan (HDHP)
The UnitedHealthCare Choice Plus plan gives you the freedom to receive care from any licensed provider and the chance to save by using in-network providers. To assist with expenses associated with the high deductible plan, members can participate in a health savings account (HSA) which allows participants to set aside money on a pre-tax basis.
