 Classification Plan Minimize
The OHR Classification Plan ensures uniform job titles for similar job duties, like pay for like work and comparable minimum qualification standards for comparable job classifications.
 
The plan also provides agencies with a basis for setting work performance standards and a means of evaluating work distribution, areas of responsibility, lines of authority, and other relationships between positions.

All jobs are classified based on duties and responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to perform the job. 

 
Job Specifications and Pay Ranges
Surveys are conducted annually to compare the pay of City employees with what other organizations in Denver are paying employees for similar work. The Career Service Board manages pay recommendations and hearings, and City Council gives final approval for all adjustments.
