Environmental Champions Awards 2004
The Environmental Champion Award Program identifies and recognizes outstanding City employees and project teams that are using and promoting environmental protection and conservation strategies to protect public health and the environment.
The Environmental Champion Award program was started in 2004. City employees and teams who made significant contributions to the environment were nominated from City departments and agencies, and the Winners of the 2004 Environmental Champion Awards were announed at the 2005 Earth Day Celebration, which was held at the Atrium of the Wellington Webb Office Building in April, 2005.

For award consideration, the employee's or team's product, service, and/or activity must result in one or more of the following:
- Reduced environmental liabilities
- Reduced pollutants released into air or water
- Reduced waste generation (solid or hazardous)
- Reduced costs or improved efficiency of the activity, while ensuring compliance
- Increase in the use of recycled and reused products
- Conservation of energy, water, or other natural resources
- Continuous environmental improvement
- Demonstration of environmental leadership
Please address these key selection criteria in your discussion of the reasons why you think the nominee should receive an Environmental Champion Award. Space is provided on the Environmental Champion Award Nomination Form. You may also submit additional material, such as reports, pictures, or other supporting documentation.

Award winners will be announced at the Earth Day Fair April 2006 in the Atrium of the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building.
