These are additional programs available to elderly, blind and disabled individuals and couples such as, Qualified Medicare Beneficiaries (QMB), Special Low Income Medicare Beneficiaries (SLIMB), Qualified Individuals-1 (QI-1), and Qualified Individuals-2 (QI-2). An overview of each program is below.

There are several requirements, which are universal to all programs. These are:

Residency: establish a Colorado address, apply in the county of residence and there is not a time of duration requirement;

Citizenship: born in the United States, a naturalized citizen or a legal alien admitted into the United States

Receives Medicare Part A

Must meet the Income and Resource limits

Benefit(s):

Pays Medicare Part B monthly premiums

Pays Part A & B deductibles

Pays the 20% Co-Insurance Payment

Receives a Medicaid Card

SLIMB

$977 - Individual

$1,303- Couple

Countable Resource Limit:

$4,000 - Individual

$6,000 - Couple

Requirements:

Receives Medicare Part A

Must meet the Income and Resource limits

Benefit(s):

Pays Medicare Part B monthly premium

No Medicaid Card Issued
