Medicaid Only


The Denver Department of Human Services Medicaid only is a federal program that pays for health care for eligible families with children. Eligibility for Medicaid only is based on your family’s income and resources. Medicaid may be requested for one or all-family members.

If you are a Denver resident, you may apply for Medicaid at the Denver Human Services Office, 1200 Federal Boulevard. To apply, come to the second floor lobby on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays or Thursdays between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., or on Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon.
 
Those residing in the Montbello area (80238, 80239, 80249) may apply at 4685 Peoria Street, Suite 500, Denver, CO 80239 - between the hours of 8.00 am and 4.30 pm
 

You also may apply at the Denver Health Medical Center and associated clinics. For more information, call the DHMC at 303-436-6000. If you apply off-site, your application will be processed at that site.

If you are a single parent, you will be required to apply for child support services for all children under the age of 19.

When you apply, please bring the following:

  • Your driver’s license or other ID
  • Income Verification
  • If you were born outside the United States, your alien registration card (if you have one)
  • If you’re pregnant, bring a letter from your doctor or clinic that states your due date
  • Social security numbers for yourself and your children
  • If you have a car, bring registration and loan information
  • If you have a bank account, bring the approximate amount of money in the account
  • If you have health insurance (or have had it recently), bring the name of the insurance company and your most recent insurance card.
  • Verification of child care expenses for the month of application

If you are approved for Medicaid Only, you are also eligible to apply for food stamps.
