The Child Welfare Division provides Special Circumstances Child Care services for children when protective services are in place; when a child has special needs which can best be met in a child care program; and when parents are first employed. Transition from Special Circumstances Child Care to Income Eligible child care is an additional service provided. The child care staff contract with new child care providers and conduct a site visit at each of the centers or homes twice each year. Child care is also provided for children placed with relatives who do not receive foster care payments but need child care assistance so they may continue working when a child is placed in their home.
