CHILD PROTECTION SERVICES
The mission for the Child Protection Services:

      • To protect children

      • To preserve and strengthen families

      • To promote safe and permanent homes for every child

In the on-going child protection section, we believe in working with families where there has been identified abuse/neglect or sexual abuse issues. Our primary focus is to reunify children safely with their parents or maintain children safely in their own home. When this is not possible, we are committed to working with families on identifying relative/kin resources for the children and keeping them in their community.

Families involved with the on-going service section will receive direct service from and on-going caseworker combined with services from the community or service providers through the department. The Child Protection caseworkers are educated and thoroughly trained in the areas of abuse/ neglect, child well-being and permanency. Our main focus is to identify and address the safety issues that brought the family to our attention. Cases opened for services in the Child protection Section can be involved with the Denver Juvenile Court or open as a voluntary case. The Child Protection Section is committed to protecting children, working with families and respecting the process of change.
