The Family Advocacy Units provide supportive services to families with open cases in the Child Welfare Division. Our focus is to teach life skills, 1 on 1 parenting, and community resource utilization. We work with families to maintain children in their homes and we provide visitations to families with the goal of reunification.
When children have been removed from their homes, maintaining contact with family members and siblings is paramount. Frequent and quality visitation in a safe and nurturing environment is the foundation of reunification services. The Denver Department of Human Services is proud to maintain the Family Enrichment Center, located at 1200 Federal Blvd. 720.944.2404 and the visitation rooms at the Montbello Office.
Our main facility, the Family Enrichment Center, provides families a home-like setting that includes private, cozy visiting rooms/nurseries, kitchens with dining rooms, a children's library, an activity room, and an outside playground. The Division focuses on providing the very best center for the families of Denver.
To better meet the needs of our clientele, additional staff has been made available to operate these important services beyond normal working hours, thus evening and week end visitation is also available for school aged children and working parents.
