24-HOUR CHILD ABUSE HOTLINE 720-944-3000
The Denver Department of Human Services maintains a 24-hour, seven day per week, Child Abuse Hotline. Any person who believes a child may be at risk for maltreatment is encouraged to report the circumstances to 720.944.3000.
Certain classes of professionals are required to report maltreatment as a condition of their license or certification to practice in the State of Colorado.
On a rotational basis, social work staff is available around the clock via a network of electronic pagers and cell phones. The Child Abuse Hotline also serves as the first point of contact for requests for voluntary child welfare services made by families who reside in Denver County.
Anonymous calls are accepted and regarded as credible unless further investigation proves otherwise, however, the identity of the caller, even if known, cannot be identified to the family who may be the subject of the allegation.
