 Landscape Planning
Forestry has prepared a landscape planning checklist (PDF) to assist in the plan submittal and review process. Applicants submitting development / landscape plans to the City and County of Denver for review and approval should be aware of the requirements included in the checklist regarding trees in the Public Right of Way. Below are additional details concerning the development process.

Existing Trees
Exiting trees must be shown on plans. If existing trees are to be removed, this must also be listed on the plan. Existing trees must first be evaluated by Denver Forestry to obtain a permit if they are to be removed. Existing trees to remain must have tree protection set up around them during the construction. Applicants preparing plans should add the Tree Protection Detail (downloadable pdf below) to their plans prior to submitting the plans to the City for review and approval. Applicants also must follow Denver's Tree Retention and Protection Guidelines (also available on this web site).
