What is a Livestock permit?

A Livestock permit allows you to keep livestock such as hens, roosters, potbelly pigs, etc. on your property.

 

 How do I get a permit to keep livestock on my property?

In order to receive a livestock permit you must first send a (pre-approval letter) to the Director of the Division of Animal Control
678 South Jason Street, Denver, CO 80223, with the following information:
 
A. Your name, address, phone number.
B. The number of each type of livestock you are attempting to house on your property

C. Size of area where animal(s) will be held.

D. Vets name, address and phone number.

E. Indicate if the animal is spayed or neutered.

F. Indicate where they dispose of excrement.

G. List of vaccinations animal has received

1.) If it is accepted a pre-approval letter will be given to the owner.

2.) The owner must then contact zoning at (720) 865-3000.

3.) If Zoning approves they will send a copy of the approval letter to the Director of Animal Control, and or the owner.

4.) The owner then must purchase the livestock permit for $100 at the Division of Animal Control office, located at 678 South Jason Street.
     The livestock permit must be renewed every year.
