The City and County of Denver's GIS information should be used for planning and design purposes only. This information should not be used for engineering purposes, relied upon for survey control, or used as a legal document.
How to obtain publicly available digital GIS data
Follow the steps below to access publicly available digital data from the DenverGIS FTP site:
1. Browse available digital GIS products.
2. Complete the online GIS request form.
3. Agree to the GIS Ordinance.
4. Receive an email with a username and password.
5. Download the GIS Data for free!

For your convenience a link to a Beginner's Guide to FTP Data Download has been provided.

NOTE: It is recommended to use DSL or T1 connections to download the information.  If dial-up is used, please expect longer download times or incomplete data downloads.

How to obtain publicly available hardcopy GIS maps
Follow the steps below to access publicly available hardcopy GIS maps from the Denver Maps site:
1. Browse available GIS products and determine what map is needed.
2. Locate an area of interest.
3. Download and print the GIS maps for free!

Unable to print at home?  DenverGIS has a self-service kiosk on the 3rd floor of the Wellington Webb Municipal Building.  Select the hardcopy map and print them at Central Services.  All prints can be picked up and paid for at Central Services on the 3rd floor for a fee.

How to order hardcopy maps and GIS digital data via fax
Follow the steps below:
1. Determine what type of information is needed, digital or hardcopy.
2. Browse available GIS products.
3. Locate an area of interest.
4. Download and complete the GIS data request form.
5. Fax the completed form to 720-913-5237.

 Policy Changes Minimize

The following are policy changes:

As per NSDI Appropriate Access to Geospatial Data, State of Colorado Homeland Security guidelines, and the Presidential Directive HSPD-7 recommendations, the following digital critical infrastructure products are not available: Sanitary Sewers and Storm Sewers and building outlines. 

The GIS License Agreement has been written to ordinance and has amended Denver's Revised Municipal Code. Acceptance of the City's GIS Ordinance and a completed GIS Data Request Form are required for all products and services.

Per the Manager of Public Works: As of January 1, 2008, the GIS Digital Fee Schedule has been revised.  Access the updated digital fee schedule here.  The fees for digital reproduction, additional media, custom products, and hard copy map printing are NOT waived.
