Many individuals unwisely make investment decisions by first selecting recent top performing funds and then chasing subsequent returns. Generally though, more attention should be given to understanding one’s personal financial situation, how much risk to consider taking, how different assets tend to behave over time, and how to approach selecting and maintaining them. Making decisions based on a well thought out plan can help you focus and realize your goals.
