What is the Residential Parking Permit Program
The Residential Parking Permit Program allows residents experiencing specific parking related conditions to request a review by the City and County of Denver - Public Works Department for purposes of determining whether parking restrictions under the RPP program would be an appropriate solution for the conditions.

How does a block or area become part of a Residential Parking Permit Program?
An inquiry about or request for restrictions is generally made to Public Works Traffic Engineering Services by a resident of a block or area when they begin to experience increased parking by non-residents. Information is gathered to begin a review of the area and the conditions. If review findings recommend the RPP program as an appropriate solution for the existing conditions the Department prepares a survey form to be circulated to all property owners and residents of the block. The form is used to indicate those who would favor or oppose the proposed restrictions. The completed form is returned to the Department. If an RPP is approved by the City and signs installed, residents may apply for a Residential Parking Permit (decal) that exempts their vehicle(s) from the posted restrictions.

Where may I park my vehicle with a Residential Parking Permit?
The permit exempts the resident’s vehicle from the posted, on-street parking time limit restrictions in the block on which the owner of the vehicle resides. Residential Parking Permits do not guarantee a parking place, nor grant parking privileges at another location.
Residential Parking Permits do not allow parking in violation of parking meters; pay stations; loading zones; no parking anytime; 72 hr. Parking; Street Sweeping restrictions; or any other parking restrictions (i.e. at or near fire hydrants, driveways, within 20 feet of a stop sign, or crosswalk, etc.).
